	Welcome to Østnes Østnes is situated on the banks of the Verdal river by the Østnes waterfall at Vuku. The estate has its own private salmon fishing along 1400 metres of the river, for the most part with fishing rights on both sides of the river. This offers extremely good fly fishing stretches and deep pools. During June the river currents are ideal giving the possibility of catching large fish. From midsummer to the middle of July is usually the best fishing period for medium to large fish. Smaller salmon and sea trout can be fished during the whole of the summer period. The fishing places are easily accessed. Walking distance is 100 metres to the roads and paths along both sides of the river. SALMON AND SEA TROUT Parts of the private area can be hired out to exclusive use. Licences for either 24 hours or a week are on sale. The Trønder House In the Trønder House dating from the eighteenth century one can be accommodated in a fully equipped flat. There are two double and two single bedrooms on the first floor. The surroundings are historic, and there is a veranda facing the garden.

Cabins for Hire There are nine timbered cabins nearby the Østnes waterfall that may be hired. The cabins have the traditional turf roof and are grouped round an open grassy area. Each cabin has four beds, refrigerator, hot plates, and kitchen utensils. Both electric and log burning stoves are installed, and there is access to deep freezing.
